Celebrating Generations of Impact
On Saturday, August 27th the City of Evanston honored Family Focus Youth Leader, JoAnn Avery, by naming part of Simpson Street JoAnn Avery Way, in celebration of her 40 years of service to Evanston’s children and youth. Evanston Council Member Bobby Burns represented the city in bestowing the honor. “It was a very emotional day for me,” Miss JoAnn reflected. “It was surreal. I’ve been here a long time. But this, this was never, ever in my wildest dreams.”
