Our Programs

Family Network provides comprehensive family support services for both English- and Spanish-speaking families who are expecting a baby or with a child age 0-11. The center offers a flexible parent/child drop-in program that strengthens children and their families and provides professional speakers addressing topics of interest to young families. In addition, Family Network provides high a quality after-school program based in two local elementary schools.

The Parent / Child Center operated by the Family Network is a drop-in program, open 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Tuesday through Friday. It provides a wide range of services for families< with children from birth through three years of age.

Through its Right from the Start / Desde el Principio program, the Family Network offers a different set of programs for the support and educationof Latino families within our community. This intervention and prevention-based program is a collaborative project with four other service agencies. This program is for parents who are going to have a baby or with a child up to age three. Prenatal and parent education/support groups; developmentally-appropriate child care while parents participate in center-based groups; Hospital visits following delivery at Highland Park Hospital; Home Visiting Services; English as a Second Language (ESL) classes; and information and referral to community resources.

The After School Activity Program (ASAP) serves elementary students who attend Wayne Thomas, Oak Terrrace, Indian Trail, Ravinia, and Lincoln Schools. The program provides snacks, games, arts & crafts projects, homework time, opportunities for indoor and outdoor active play.

With a 20-year record as a support center for parents and their children ages 0 to 3, Family Network now has expanded its services to provide an After School Activity Program (ASAP) for children in kindergarten through third grade and their siblings in fourth and fifth grades.

Held at Wayne Thomas and Indian Trail schools, with busing service for children from Oak Terrace School, ASAP provides families in North Shore District 112 with a safe, enriching, and nurturing after-school experience that is affordable to all. Working in collaboration with the school district, Family Network offers nutritious snacks, games, arts-and-crafts activities, homework assistance, and indoor and outdoor play.
