Emergency Assistance for Housing and Utility Payments, Health Resources and Employment Services

In partnership with the Illinois Department of Health and Human Services, Family Focus has emergency assistance available for housing and utility payments, health resources, or employment and training services for those affected by COVID-19.


Housing or utility payments – 3 months of rental, mortgage and utility assistance for unpaid bills due between March 1, 2020 and December 30, 2020.

Health Navigator – Receive COVID specific Health Navigator trainings and certification from Alivio Medical Center and the Arturo Valasquez Institute – City Colleges of Chicago.

Employment and training service – Receive training, employment assistance and worker protection education.


Assistance is available to immigrants, refugees, and limited English proficient people who have had financial hardships due to COVID-19.  Must be a resident of the state of Illinois.


You must provide one of EACH of the following:

  1. Proof of identify, such as a state, city or county ID, driver’s license, passport, matricula consular or school ID.
  2. Proof of address, such as a state, city or county ID, driver’s license, utility bill, lease or mortgage statement, bank statement or pay stub.
  3. Proof of income, such as a pay stub, most recently filed taxes, or affidavit from employer.
  4. Proof of financial hardship, such as documentation or a statement that shows loss of income, loss of job or reduction in hours, increased healthcare or medical bills, increased childcare costs, or other.
